Hello, growing up, we always had pets in the house. As a teenager, I found enjoyment in equestrian sports. I rode competitively in the hunter jumper show circuit around the St. Louis area. It was during my teenage years that I had a horse that suffered a severe leg injury from getting entangled in barbed wire. It took 11 months for the wound to heal and the horse to become sound again. During that time, I decided I wanted to become a veterinarian. I received my bachelors degree from Purdue University in 1989 and graduated from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. I worked in Valparaiso for 2.5 years. In 1996, I purchased Barden Animal Clinic in Lowell and sold the practice in 2006. In 2007, I opened McPheron Animal Clinic in Crown Point. I look forward to continuing to serve the community needs with many years to come.
SamanthaPractice Manager, Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Samantha. I am the Practice Manager and a Technician here at McPheron Animal Clinic. My love for animals began as a small child. I grew up riding horses and caring for my little poodle named Sunny. Now my fur family includes 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs named Leonardo and Theodor, a Newfoundland named Benny, and 2 cats named Ruger and Autumn. I enjoy working with both people and animals and my job allows me to do that. At McPheron Animal Clinic we strive to provide the best care for your animals and that is something that I take pride in. I enjoy the community that surrounds our practice and I look forward to continuing to help care for you and your animals.
Hi, my name is Paris and I’ve been working with animals for about 15 years. I have worked in kennels, as a groomer’s assistant and graduated in 2016 from The Vet Tech Institute at Fox College to become a veterinary technician. I’ve always wanted to work with animals ever since I was about 3 years old. As a child, I always told my parents 'I want to give shots to animals to make them feel better.' That is what I am doing today; helping them feel better. My family includes: 2 cats, 1 bearded dragon, and a large aquarium! Animals are a part of our families and should be cared for the same way.

Hey there, my name's Alexa (yes just like the Echo). I’ve wanted to work with animals for as long as I can remember. It took me awhile to pursue my dreams but I finally did it! I graduated from The Vet Tech Institute at Fox College in 2018 and I’ve been a veterinary technician for 2 years now. I come to work every day loving what I do, learning from an amazing doctor and working with the best team anyone could ask for! I’m looking forward to many more years of learning, growing and helping animals live their best lives.
KaitlynnVeterinary Technician, Groomer
Hi my name is Kaitlynn and I've been working with animals since 2013. I always knew growing up that I wanted to work with animals, and had my parents let me get away with it I probably could have opened a zoo growing up. I've had dogs, cats, birds, a rabbit, hamsters, fish, ducks, turtles, and frogs. I currently have an 11 year old Border Collie/Husky mix named Chance, a 3 year old Siamese mix named Sephora, a 10 year old dwarf rabbit named Dexter, a 9 year old lovebird named Peaches, and a 1 year old parakeet named Pico. Being around animals and especially working with them is a huge part of my life and I honestly don't think I would be happy doing anything else. I work part-time as a technician and the other days I am grooming animals. I'm a Professional Dog Groomer. I love both jobs and I'm always learning something new every day.
Hello, my name is Victoria. I have been working for Mcpheron for a few years now. I am currently part time. I have always grown up around different types of animals such as horses, reptiles, and of course dogs. My favorite part of the job is assisting in dental and taking radiographs. My favorite companion is a golden retriever named Phoebe, and we love swimming, going on hikes, and over all exploring.
Hi my name is Nadia. I've been working for the clinic for 2 years now. I worked as an assistant for a year and learned a lot from my fellow coworkers. Today, I am now a veterinary technician. I'm currently attending Purdue Calumet for my bachelors degree in biology. I have 3 dogs and their names are Finn who is a German Shepherd mix and is 3 years old, Oso who is a Lhasa Apso and is 7 years old, and King who is a Bichon.
Hi, my name is Taylor and I am new to the clinic. Working with animals is something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl, but I just recently got the opportunity to start the journey. I grew up on a farm working with horses, cows, pigs, and everything else you could imagine which is where I developed my love for animals. I have two dogs of my own at home but my best friend in the picture is Molly, my black lab! I am so excited to be the technician that assists you with all of your animals’ needs!
Hi, my name is Mendy. I have been a receptionist here at the clinic for about 6 months. I have grown up around all kinds of animals, I had dogs, cats, rabbits and cows. I have 2 dogs at home, a black lab, and pictured with me my 2 year old Siberian Husky Skye. I am so glad I have the opportunity to work with animals, something I have wanted to do most of my life. I look forward to helping clients and their pets.
